Where is Michael Shoeffling now, aka Jake Ryan?

Michael Shoeffling turned many female heads playing the handsome high schooler Jake Ryan in the classic 80's movie Sixteen Candles. Jake Ryan will forever be known as the ideal young man who made his female fans tongue-tied. His striking good looks made women swoon over his every move. To this very day, grown up female movie fans and stars reminisce about their crush on Jake Ryan.

Modern day movie fans today are still wondering about Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles. AMC and other cable channels are feeding the demand, as these networks are showing Sixteen Candles repeatedly to remind female fans about Jake Ryan. As good as Hollywood can be at the height of a movie career, it can also deflate the fame bubble that once made an actor in high demand. Female movie fans are dying to know where Michael Shoeffling is today.

Trying to track down the whereabouts of this once famous actor, Michael Shoeffling, is like searching for Aliens in the New Mexico desert. Michael Shoeffling should be given an Academy Academy for Best Actor for his disappearance. Unlike most Hollywood stars, there are no current pictures of this former teenage heartthrob anywhere on the web. Michael Shoeffling (Jake Ryan) has done a great job leaving Hollywood behind and never looking back.

If you perform an Internet search of Michael Shoeffling, you will come across many websites featuring articles on this 80's star. There are accounts that Michael lives in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, where he is currently a furniture maker. For the most part, no person has snapped a current picture of Michael Shoeffling.

According to several websites, Michael Shoeffling married a former model named Valerie and had a son and a daughter. His kids are all grown up, where his daughter is now a model like her mother. Michael's daughter (23-years-old) is almost the same age as he was when he starred in Sixteen Candles. As another decade passes up by, the search for modern Jake Ryan will continue on.

Given the fact that Michael Shoeffling struggled to find movie roles after his Hollywood flame died out, it makes us ponder over how average actors without any talent are running the movie industry. We kid you not that Michael Shoeffling got robbed from making movies. This actor probably got typecast as Jake Ryan and could never land the roles he coveted most. Once his movie flame failed to materialize, this may have influenced his decision to leave Hollywood cold-turkey.

Will a current picture of this wildly popular 80's actor ever surface? Sixteen Candles female movie fans can only watch Jake Ryan in his classic 80's role. They can dream about Jake Ryan as being the perfect man. Where is Michael Shoeffling now?

Winnie Goodwin: The Witch in Free Spirit 80's show

Free Spirit lasted only 14 episodes. This short lived 80s show featured Corrine Bohrer as Winnie Goodwin, a hot blonde witch working as a normal housekeeper. It made Sunday night a treat for many male viewers.

We can't forget about sexy Corrine. Her portrayal of Winnie Goodwin excited us. In one Halloween episode, she wore a sexy witch costume that revealed her sexy legs. Corrine is a hot, sexy blonde.

Want to relive the Free Spirit experience again? Share your reaction when you first watched Corrine Bohrer as Winnie Goodwin. We couldn't stop thinking about this sexy blonde witch.

80s night on ABC Family channel brings back these nostalgic times

80's auteur director John Hughes portrayed the 80s as a unique decade we continue to celebrate. We remember the memorable moments of the 80s because it is a time far less stressful than it is now. The 80s were original in its style such as bright color palettes, outlandish clothing, wild hair and makeup, cool cars, great movies and awesome music. Nevertheless, moviegoers are given another chance to travel down memory lane once again and reminisce on the simplicity of life before the Information Age.

80s movies and music feature that nostalgic flare we don't see that often in current movies unless Hollywood releases an 80s remake or reboots a franchise. Tonight, ABC Family screened Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club back-to-back.

In 80s movies such as Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club, the scenes are carefully constructed to capture the essence of the 80s: the clothes, snarkiness, rebellious attitudes of teens and young crushes. John Hughes was a master at making his 80s teen movies intriguing. These movies never get old.

After watching these 80s movies again, the nostalgia kicks in and there is a sense of originality we see lacking in recent movies. Teen movies are fun to watch. The 80s confront the pressure of teenage life where high school focused on living in the moment and not so far in the distant future.

Current high school students and college graduates must worry whether something bad will happen to them. If it is not some insane student attempting to unleash their hate, then it's trying to find a job to pay back student loans and build a foundation that is consistent and hopefully permanent.

The 80s are a decade that make people remember missed opportunities and good, memorable times. We remember seeing cars align the downtown streets, where cruising was commonplace on Friday nights. On 80s videos, people leave comments to reflect on a past crush they can never forget. This genuinely miss the 80s. Relationships, friendships and family life were more meaningful than now.

Plan an 80s movie night to return back to a time that gave us the best music and movies. With the 80s, we rejoice together to reflect on a decade that makes us both happy and sad. It is a memorable time, the beginning of MTV craze that revolutionized music as we known it. Even if you didn't grow up in the 80s, watching 80s movies and listening the best songs of the 80s can introduce you to this exciting era.
